A professional wrestling dream match has just been booked for next week’s AEW Dynamite. After Chris Jericho defeated Shawn Spears in the opening contest of Wednesday’s show, Maxwell Jacob Friedman announced who would be next up for the Demo God in his brutal “5 Labors of Jericho”.
The man that he will be facing is none other than current GCW World Champion Nick Gage. MJF announced that the two will square off next week in a No-Disqualification match, with the rest of Jericho’s Inner Circle banned from ringside. Gage appeared from the back to a ruckus crowd in Garland, Texas.
One of the most notorious death-match wrestlers in the history of wrestling, Gage is a cult icon amongst hardcore fans. Speculation has been rampant for months of Gage’s eventual involvement in AEW since his stand-off with former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley at GCW Spring Break this past WrestleMania weekend.
The idea of “Chris Jericho Vs Nick Gage” sounds like something straight out of a WWE 2K Universe mode simulation, but AEW is no stranger to giving fans these massive “what-if” matches in the past. It all goes down next week at 8 EST on AEW Dynamite.
