WWE released a lot of surprising names recently, and probably the biggest surprise on that list was Samoa Joe. He had just called WrestleMania 37 over the weekend and he had been listed as an active talent as recent as Monday. Many people thought his departure from the Raw announce team was a positive sign he was heading for an in-ring return, but instead he found himself released.
Fans are wondering where Joe may end up, and the dream match list is starting to build as it tends to. However, an old rival has emerged to toss his name out as a possible future opponent if things can be met.
CM Punk held a Q&A session on Twitter and one fan asked him if a showdown with Samoa Joe is a possibility. Punk, who is known for giving ambiguous answers at times, gave one that was sure to get his fans talking and the rest of the wrestling world.
Anything is possible.
Punk and Joe have been rivals dating back to their days in Ring of Honor, where the two had a trilogy of matches that were integral to putting the company on the map. The pair are now older and more seasoned, leading fans to wonder what a match between the two would be like now. At least Punk is willing to keep his mind open about it.
