Tony Khan Is Excited To Get New Eyes On AEW Thanks To NXT’s Move To Tuesday

Next Wednesday will mark the official end of the Wednesday Night War between NXT and AEW as only AEW will air on Wednesday night. NXT begins its time on a new night April 13th, meaning both shows will no longer run head to head.

Talking with Sports Illustrated, AEW’s President and CEO Tony Khan talked about the end of the head to head battle and expressed optimism that with both shows now no longer going head to head, AEW had an opportunity to get more eyes on the product.

“I’m always very excited for Dynamite every Wednesday, and now there is more wrestling on TV every night of the week for people to watch. We’d love to have all people check out Dynamite on Wednesdays, and we really want all fans to check out the show.”

Khan also talked about him forming partnerships with other promotions like Impact Wrestling, AAA, and New Japan Pro Wrestling to help bring more eyes to All Elite Wrestling.

“That’s why we’re so open to working with other companies, which you’ve seen as we’ve agreed to collaborate with companies like New Japan Pro-Wrestling, AAA, Impact and the NWA.”

Both shows should see nice boosts in ratings with the move, so now it’s up to the companies to continue to provide an interesting product to maintain those bumps they’ll receive from the move.
