When Did Christian Cage Actually Sign With AEW?

Following AEW’s Revolution PPV, Tony Khan participated in the post-show media scrum and was asked about the debut and signing of Christian Cage.

On last week’s episode of Dynamite, Paul Wight teased that a future Hall of Famer would debut at Revolution and sign a contract with the company. That ended up being Christian Cage, as he made his way to the ring without saying a word and signed his AEW contract.

During the media call, Tony Khan was asked about Christian and he revealed that the signing of the former WWE Superstar came together just over the last few weeks, and that things happened pretty quickly. Khan added that he wasn’t even aware that Christian wasn’t under contract with WWE and that he was interested in wrestling again. He said that he was kicking himself when he saw him return at the Royal Rumble back in January, where he ended up being one of the final four competitors left in the match. Tony stated that, “never in a million years did I image he’d be here.”

“Khan says the signing of Christian came up in the last few weeks, but this came together pretty quickly. He says he wasn’t aware he wasn’t under contract. “Never in a million years did I imagine he’d be here.” “

Christian Cage is scheduled to appear on this Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite and will speak to the AEW audience for the first time.
