Last night on Monday Night RAW, Damian Priest faced off with Elias and the match went longer than most assumed it would have gone. The match up between the two stars lasted roughly fifteen minutes.
On Wrestler Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed why the match went as long as it did on RAW.
The reasoning why the match went on as long as it did was due to the fact of 24/7 Champion and Damian Priest’s manager and friend, Bad Bunny.
Meltzer had this to say about the reason it went as long as it did:
“The reason the match between Elias and Priest ran so long is that WWE wants to show rapper and current 24/7 champion Bad Bunny on the air as long as possible in order to draw in more Hispanic viewers. Meltzer stated, “They think the more that Bad Bunny’s out there, the more Hispanic viewers are going to watch.”
Bad Bunny has been making repetitive appearances on RAW and it has also been noted that the rapper is training at the WWE Performance Center.
