Cesaro has had a renewed push lately on SmackDown since signing his new contract, and the Swiss Superman has been looking the best he’s had as a singles star in years. Many people hoped it would lead to a Universal Title match at Elimination Chamber or even at Fastlane, but it hasn’t seemed to happen. However, just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about Cesaro’s place on SmackDown right now. While it doesn’t seem like he’s in the Universal Title picture right now, there’s a very good chance Cesaro might be one of the first guys up following WrestleMania.
“I guess they’re saving Cesaro for after WrestleMania.”
Considering Cesaro’s current direction has him on a collision course with Seth Rollins, if it’s possible Cesaro wins at WrestleMania, it’s the strongest position he’s been in as a singles star his entire career and he could finally be on a course to meet the Tribal Chief in a match for the biggest prize on SmackDown.
