Speculation On Angel Garza’s Appearance On Raw Last Night

Angel Garza was spotted on Monday Night Raw last night, the first time Garza has been seen on television in several weeks. At one point, Garza was getting high praise from Vince McMahon but has yet to get a big focus on Raw since those high remarks.

In fact, his appearance last night came in a lost to Damian Priest as he took part in the storyline involving Priest, Bad Bunny, The Miz, and John Morrison. It was a surprise to see Garza get inserted into the angle, but on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer thinks that Garza made an appearance to help keep Priest on his winning ways.

“Angel Garza was in the Bad Bunny match. [Miz and Morrison] were in the Bad Bunny match. I don’t know if they’re [friends] but they had to have them out for the Bad Bunny match. They didn’t want Damian Priest beating Miz or Morrison week after week, so they had to bring someone else out for Priest to get wins over and that’s where Angel Garza fits in.”

Garza being the sacrificial lamb is a long fall from when Vince McMahon called him the next Eddie Guererro. While it’s unknown if his loss this week adds his presence to the angle or was just a one night thing, it’s clear that they’re still working to get the storyline over and working on keeping Damian Priest on a winning run. For Garza, here’s hoping something happens to give him regular TV time, as he was already struggling for it this year after being pulled from the Royal Rumble.
