On January 31, Bianca Belair made history by winning the 2021 Royal Rumble. Bianca Belair was the right pick to win the Royal Rumble and now WWE has the golden opportunity to create a new star.
Belair is the total package, great promo, solid in-ring abilities and a lot of charisma. The parts are their to make a star, WWE just needs to book Bianca Belair right and the rest will come naturally.
I wish I had the confidence to say WWE won’t screw over this golden opportunity they have in their hands with Bianca Belair, but their track record in the last 10 years backs up my lack of trust with WWE’s creative on creating new stars.
The booking of Belair going forward will be important to see how will they establish her before heading to WrestleMania. The most important thing will be to chose the right opponent and Sasha Banks would be the perfect opponent for Bianca at WrestleMania. The current SD women’s champion would be the perfect opponent in a star making match.
Asuka would also be a great opponent for Belair at WrestleMania, but unfortunately RAW’s women’s division is not going through good times right now and having such a young and somewhat inexperience wrestler carry that division would be a terrible idea on the long term.
Even after WrestleMania the job is not done. Win or lose at Mania, Bianca will need good storylines to help her establish even more as a prominent player in not only the women’s division, but on WWE in general. Like I said before, SmackDown and Sasha Banks are the perfect brand and Mania opponent for the EST.
Only time will tell how WWE handle this golden opportunity they have with Belair, but one thing is for sure, if WWE play their cards right, WWE will have a young star in their hands and they really need one right now.
