Backstage News On Keith Lee’s Ring Break Spot On RAW

Keith Lee had an impressive Monday Night Raw. Not only did he pick up two victories in two back to back matches, but Lee had a moment during his first match where he and Sheamus took on The Miz and John Morrison. One shoulder tackle from Lee to John Morrison in the corner broke the turnbuckle, revealing the limitless strength of Lee.

As accidental as something like that could be, it turns out it was a deliberate move made by the WWE and with a reason. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about why they booked that angle into the match, and it had to do with wanting to keep fans hooked so they’d stay through a commercial break.

“The mentality is that before you go to commercial you need to do something outrageous to hook people, so they had to top rope snap to hook people, but the thing is by the time it came back it’s irrelevant.”

The WWE had to do a lot of things to keep eyes on the product last night. With their main event canceled due to Drew McIntyre contracting COVID-19, WWE took steps to keep the show packed with an appearance from Triple H and things like this.
