This week’s Raw ended on a cliffhanger, with Alexa Bliss pleading for Randy Orton to set her on fire like he had done to The Fiend at TLC. As the lights went out, Orton lit the match and that was the ending image of last night’s show. The cliffhanger was deliberate, as it seems we’re only reaching the next chapter on the feud between Randy Orton and The Fiend.
Ringside News has reported WWE is planning on another match with The Fiend and Randy Orton at the Royal Rumble in what is said to be another gimmick match that’s “crazy.”
While WWE has a few matches planned out for the Royal Rumble in addition to the two battle royal matches, it’s not always guaranteed the ones planned for the Rumble actually make it to the big show. WWE lately has a tendency to take some of the matches scheduled for pay per view and move them to Raw or SmackDown instead in the hopes that they’ll fill creative holes or increase ratings.
However, their source explicitly told the site “Randy Orton vs. The Fiend in another gimmick match will happen at the Rumble.”
So unless something happens beyond their control, we will see those two meet one more time at the Royal Rumble.
