When Brodie Lee’s wife announced his passing on Instagram, she was clear when telling everyone Brodie had passed away from a non-COVID related lung issue. It can definitely be ruled out, as the hospital he was staying at tested him repeatedly for the disease.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Brodie Lee had been tested multiple times over the months he was in the hospital for COVID-19, in addition to the testing he received while working for AEW. None of them revealed the issue for Lee.
“Obviously when he was wrestling he was tested [for COVID-19] before every show, that’s a given, but I was told he was tested many times while he was in the hospital. Legitimately that can be ruled out.”
He went on to say “his lungs stopped working. I don’t know why, but they stopped working.”
