AEW Re-Signs The Lucha Bros

If you’re worried about where you’re going to check out The Lucha Bros for the foreseeable future, don’t change the channel from TNT.

Bill Pritchard from WrestleZone has reported Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix signed new contracts with the company earlier this year, locking them down into next year. The site reported that their contracts reportedly expired at the end of August but they signed new deals that very day.

They went on to add that this was never a situation where they would leave the company and the duo were “never not under contract.”

Penta’s name change ties into this new contract, believe it or not. Pentagon Jr. is a name owned by AAA Lucha Libre, and Penta was able to sign his current AEW deal without AAA being involved in any step of the process. AEW had permission for the Pentagon Jr. name due to their working relationship with AAA, but now it’s just a case of AEW covering all their bases by using a trademark Penta owns himself. There’s no bad blood involving the use of the name, it’s all business.

That said, Death Triangle should be a big part of AEW television for a while, especially when PAC is in the States for Dynamite tapings.
