EC3 And Others Removed From ROH Final Battle

In the world of wrestling, the term “card subject to change” has never been more obvious than it has in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ring of Honor has had several stars in their bubble in preparation for Final Battle on December 18th, but now several stars scheduled to appear will have to be held off the show. Bandido, EC3, Flamita, and Kenny King will not be allowed to attend the event thanks to strict protocols from the Maryland State Athletic Commission. The reason cited is a result of “pre-travel testing” and RoH has been keeping strict protocol and following all guidelines.

It has been said “all four performers are doing well and resting at home.” They wished them a speedy recovery and have plans for them to return to action in 2021.

Obviously, this is an interesting scenario for the show. The RoH Six-Man Tag Team Title match has lost 2/3rds of the incumbent champions, while there has yet to be anything booked for King. However, EC3 was featured in one of the first matches announced for the card and has often been listed as one of the top matches of the show. It’s no secret EC3 is a free agent at the end of the year, so unless they have plans worked out with him in advance, EC3 will not be obligated to return to RoH next year. We will have more on this as it develops, but you can read RoH’s press release below.

With the health and safety of Ring of Honor’s talent, staff and fans the company’s No. 1 priority during the pandemic, ROH enacted stringent COVID-19 protocols in conjunction with the Maryland State Athletic Commission.

As a result of pre-travel testing, the following performers will not appear at the Final Battle pay-per-view on Dec. 18:

Bandido
EC3
Flamita
Kenny King

All four performers are doing well and resting at home. ROH wishes them a speedy recovery and looks forward to their return to action in 2021.

All other ROH performers, production staff and general staff are safely in the ROH bubble after passing their second round of tests.

Changes to the Final Battle card given this development will be announced during Final Battle Hour One, which airs free from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern on Best on the Planet, STIRR City, Facebook, YouTube, FITE, pay-per-view and for HonorClub members on ROHWrestling.com.
