WWE’S Plan For The Christmas Day Episode Of SmackDown

WWE’s annual Christmas show has a scheduling conflict. Mostly because it actually falls on Christmas this year.

WWE usually gives their talent a chance to be at home with their family for the holiday, but SmackDown this year would land on Christmas Day. In this circumstance, Smackdown’s Christmas episode won’t be live, but taped.

Ringside News first learned this and their source on the creative team confirmed the episode would be pre-taped for the holidays, but they haven’t revealed when just yet. Right now, they are “waiting on marching orders” according to their source.

While taping Christmas episodes isn’t new, the fact that it’s a taped episode in the ThunderDome makes it a rare occasion. The extra things they can do with the screens and different effects they have at this disposal should make the show interesting, in addition to the fact it will probably be taped in their new home at Tropicana Field provided they don’t suddenly tape it in the next 48 hours or something.

We will have more updates as they become available.
