AEW Crushes NXT In Overnight Ratings

Last night WWE and AEW presented two pretty big shows. AEW delivered their Winter Is Coming show complete with the hyped Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega World Title match, and NXT had their go-home show before Takeover: WarGames. How were the ratings?

Showbuzz Daily has reported on the overnight ratings, with AEW delivering an overnight average of 913,000 fans with a .42 in the 18-49 demographic. NXT had 658,000 fans with a .16 in that coveted demo. This is a huge jump in viewership for Dynamite and a drop for NXT as both were tied with 712,000 after updated reports. That came out to last week AEW having a .26 in the 18-49 and NXT delivering a .14 in the same.

AEW’s ratings probably got a huge jump thanks to fan reaction on the east coast for the debut of Sting and the ending of the show, creating a lot of buzz when the show ran on the west coast. It’s a major victory especially with NXT having one of their Takeover events on Sunday. It should be interesting if AEW can carry numbers like that after next week’s show.
