WWE once had the opportunity of using Shaquille O’Neal in a big match against the Big Show at WrestleMania. However, that never came to fruition.
On During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about O’Neal’s history in professional wresting. He wanted to have a match against Big Show but it seems WWE had no intention of going through with the match.
“Both sides blame the other when it came to Shaquille and WWE. WWE always said that like he would talk like he wanted to do it, but he never agreed to do it. WWE also said that he wouldn’t train and it was always out of shape. Shaquille also said that they promised him an amount of money, but they never put it down, so he never got the offer that they said,”
It seems AEW will be using O’Neal instead as he was mentioned during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Brandi Rhodes and Jade Cargill certainly made it seem that O’Neal might be competing in a mixed tag team match in the future.
