One of the breakout stars of AEW’s YouTube show Dark has been Griff Garrison. Garrison has had some excellent singles matches, in addition to forming a formidable team with Brian Pillman Jr. on the show.
Garrison recently spoke with The DropKick podcast and talked his team with Pillman, and while the team has drawn comparisons to his Pillman’s father’s Hollywood Blonds tag team, the duo wants to forge their own identity.
“We’re actually in the process of coming up with gear, coming up with a name. We have two or three ideas, but I won’t give it away right now on here. Yeah, but Hollywood Blonds, that was, you know, that was his dad’s thing. So we’re not really going to go Hollywood Blonds. We might keep the blonde persona or whatever and rock with that but we’re still coming up with it. But a funny story like we were sitting ringside for Dynamite and he just came and sat by me and then the camera, the camera was going and going and going and then it got to us and then we got the red light and he was standing beside me and he started playing with his hair and playing with my hair and doing it and I’m just like, ‘yeah, I’m getting TV time.’
“So after that, like, I watch the match, I get on my phone, check Twitter and it’s just spinning, blowing up! But yeah, we’re coming up with names. We got three that were still deciding on, but it should be relatively soon.”
Garrison and Pillman have started picking up victories on the YouTube show, and Garrison picked up a singles win on the recently posted Dark.
