WWE has been notorious about long term planning not for immediate angles, but for the biggest shows of the year. Plans on where they are heading for Wrestlemania and the other “big four” pay per views are often planned months in advance.
However, when it comes to this year’s Royal Rumble, the company seems to have no plans set in stone. This goes as far as planning this year’s winner of the big battle royal.
Ringside News first reported that plans for the show or the winner aren’t even close yet. Their source explicitly told them “It’s way too early to finalize tomorrow’s show, let alone the Royal Rumble!” This matches their earlier report about tonight’s script for the show going “terribly”.
There were initial thoughts the WWE had already planned their big winner, as betting odds shifted in favor of Big E winning the event happened recently according to Ringside News & SkyBet. It just goes to show that every situation in the WWE is still fluid, even the winner of one of their biggest matches of the year.
