WWE legend Rey Mysterio has named his dream opponent if he were to ever have a Hell in a cell match. Rey was speaking on WWE Ahora, a Spanish language preview show for the WWE Hell In A Cell PPV. Mysterio said he was not eager to step inside the ‘cell’, but if he did he would like to face current NXT champion Finn Balor.
Rey Mysterio has achieved so much in his illustrious career, from winning the royal rumble match, to winning the world championship at Wrestlemania 22, even becoming WWE champion. He has been in TLC matches, Elimination Chamber matches, I Quit matches and even a match where he was stipulated to lose his eyeball, but he has never been in a Hell in a cell match, and Rey has said if that ever changes he would like to face ‘the prince’ inside the ‘demonic structure’.
“That’s a great question. To be honest, I haven’t imagined being in a match as dangerous as this one. I’ve imagined myself in matches that I have participated in very few times, like the TLC match, that to me is all about the height, the ladders, and looking for ways to entertain the fans and get a title. But talking about Hell in a Cell… I think I’d like to face Finn Balor. That would be historical.
I’ve faced Finn Balor only once, at Survivor Series 2018. I had great chemistry with him. Since then, I haven’t crossed paths with him. But if I could choose, I’d pick Finn in a Hell in a Cell match.”
That certainly sounds like a great potential match, could we ever see Rey Mysterio vs Finn Balor inside Hell in a cell?
