The Collective took to Twitter to issue a press statement on the recent controversy over the positive covid-19 tests for their workers. It also appears that fans in attendance have also tested positive for covid-19, and used Twitter to spread awareness.
Twitter user @hunterbrook20, issued the Tweet below:
Hunterbrook appears to have been a constant during The Collective weekend, and her Twitter is full of videos and pictures from the event. It does appear that the event took all the precautions it could, but with such a social element involved in a wrestling show, it doesn’t surprise me to hear of this type of outbreak.
The talent who appeared at The Collective have also started to test positive, and a lot of the promotions who have contracts with these talents are stopping them from returning at the moment. The Collective has taken to Twitter to issue the following statement,
“Thank you to all the fans that attended #TheCollective in Indianapolis! On behalf of the 8 participating promotions, we thank you for your energy and enthusiasm at a time when we all needed this feeling of normalcy.
Not only did you attend but you followed guidelines and were respectful and mindful of the safety of not just yourselves, but also of those around you and for that we are grateful.
With that being said, over the last 24+ hours, we have learned of a handful of positive COVID tests from those who attended The Collective. We have been in contact with some of them and will continue to be and offer our support as they navigate through the coming days and weeks.
We encourage everyone who attended the events in any capacity to get a test as soon as possible and notify those they may have interacted with of their situation.”
Our thoughts are with everyone who has tested positive, and again it must be said that The Collective did follow all the procedures they could. This type of virus can find its way if it wants to, and it appeared as though it targeted The Collective.
