Brandi Lauren, The Future Of Women’s Wrestling

At the beginning of October 2020, WWE announced a new group of talent signed to their performance centre. One of talents signed was Brandi Lauren, who I believe has the ability to be the future of women’s wrestling.

For those who don’t know who Brandi Lauren is, let me give you her back story. Brandi was born on September 26, 1996 and her real full name is Brandi Lauren Pawalek. She’s a model and a professional wrestler and a damn good one too.

Brandi Lauren has worked for a few companies before joining WWE. She’s spent time with Full Throttle Pro Wrestling, in which she became the inaugural Full Throttle Pro Wrestling Ladies Champion, and also worked for SHINE Wrestling and IMPACT before joining WWE.

SHINE wrestling is where I first heard of Brandi, and its a fantastic brand that shows the talents of solely women wrestlers. The show is associated with Shimmer which you may have heard of. Brandi has shown her skills against competitors such as Aria Blake, Jessie Belle Smothers and many more.

Following her time in SHINE wrestling, Brandi Lauren made her IMPACT wrestling debut in 2017. She faced Brandi Rhodes in a no contest, but also went on to face Angelina Love who have huge reputations in the wrestling industry. Eventually, IMPACT decided to change Brandi Lauren’s name to Ava Storie, challenging for the GFW Women’s Championship but was defeated by champion Christina Von Eerie.

Brandi eventually debuted for WWE as part of NXT in 2018, and she faced Lacey Evans in a losing attempt. This was only a short match to help boost Lacey Evans, but to see Brandi in a WWE ring was a credit to her hard work and determination.

With the future of wrestling in her hands, and a pool of talent there to support her, there is nothing stopping Brandi Lauren from becoming the future of WWE. Her mic work has improved with ever step she’s taken, and her in ring work is proven to be on par with the best of them.

I for one, can’t wait to see her next in ring debut for the company, and if WWE know what they’ve got on their team, they’d be stupid to miss out. The future belongs to Brandi Lauren, and the future is NXT.
