WWE Releases Reportedly Bitter About Treatment

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE decided to release alot of their old guard, whilst keeping the younger producers around.

When the pandemic hit, WWE put a large number of their staff on furlough. With the environment changing and fans slowly being allowed back in stadiums, WWE may start to look into this. One of the main reasons for the releases is that WWE may be looking to pull back on their Live Events, even when the pandemic is over. This is a shift to save money due to the many changes over the last few months.

Dave Meltzer stated:

“There was a lot of bitterness from those feeling strung along. It was noted to us that people were told they would be brought back, but then the date of being brought back kept moving another month.”

With WWE apparently making a profit due to all their cuts, it isn’t surprising to see them make more changes. By doing this they’re securing more of their future, but it is unfortunate for those who felt like they had been strung along.
