Impact Wrestling shockingly released Tessa Blanchard from her contract just a few days before it was set to run out back in June.
The reason they cut the contract short was due to Tessa refusing to drop the Impact World title back at Slammiversary. Impact decided to cease all contract negotiations and strip her of the World Title.
Dave Meltzer reports in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there are some people within Impact who are sure that the real reason Blanchard didn’t sign a new deal prior to her firing is because she had already received a better offer from elsewhere. Blanchard is yet to sign a contract with a new promotion but has been heavily linked with both WWE and AEW.
She is set to defend the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship against Impact’s Kylie Rae, this Saturday.
