MLW is making a return with a new set of TV tapings in October. MLW CEO Court Bauer confirmed the news in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
The show will begin airing early November with the TV tapings emanating from an undisclosed East Coast location.
“We’ll air in November on a weeknight in primetime on Fubo Sports Network, and our content will also be available on DAZN, which includes exclusive content, and Saturday nights on beIN. As for the filming, we’re not going to publicly announce our location. If fans were to show up, it would just cause a wave of complications with the COVID protocol, but we are very excited to return for our fans.”
There is also a possible name change in store for their flagship TV show. It will either be the third season of MLW: Fusion, or we could very well see a return to MLW Underground (not to be confused with Shane O Mac’s Raw Underground).
It is there that we will see many of the top MLW stars, headlined by MLW World Champion Jacob Fatu. We will also see Tom Lawlor, Alex Hammerstone, Myron Reed, Salina de la Renta, Richard Holliday, Calvin Tankman and son of the late great Brian Pillman, Brian Pillman Jr.
Bauer also noted he is looking at bringing in some new additions from AAA and New Japan Pro Wrestling:
“We’ll have top talent from MLW and beyond…We learned during this break who had our back, and I think people will be very surprised by what opportunities have been borne from that.” said Bauer speaking about the relationship with AAA which occurred before the Covid break and when MLW worked out a deal to have Tom Lawlor work NJPW Strong.
