Leon Ruff Signs With WWE NXT

Fans of Leon Ruff could be seeing a lot more of the talented young Superstar on WWE television in the near future.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider has reported that Leon Ruff has signed a contract with WWE NXT. Fightful have since confirmed Ruff’s signing. Ruff has been a busy man recently, appearing on WWE RAW, SmackDown, Main Event, NXT and 205 Live during the empty arena era after previously working for EVOLVE.

WWE recently acquired EVOLVE on July 2nd and with the purchase they also acquired several talents. Leon Ruff is the first confirmed new signing.

WWE released a feature video on Ruff, which you can view below. In the video, Ruff said:

“It’s been a crazy rollercoaster. The Aleister [Black] match was supposed to be a one-off thing and then to find out I get brought back to wrestle him on Raw was really cool. Three years earlier, I paid for close to front row seats to Raw. To go from there to being in the ring was a really special moment because my mom and dad got to see me wrestle on TV.”

Ruff first appeared in WWE on the March 20th episode of Main Event, losing in quick fashion to Aleister Black. They ran the match back on a subsequent episode of WWE Raw

“I wasn’t working during the pandemic, I started getting these extra spots and I really started working hard so they could keep bringing me back so I could start bringing more money in to help contribute to the household.”

Ruff is dating NXT Referee Aja Smith. He most recently wrestled Drake Maverick on the July 24 episode of 205 Live.
