Ring Of Honor Brings Back The Pure Title

The Pure Championship is back according to Ring of Honor. Current New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Will Ospreay created Twitter buzz recently when he expressed his love for the ROH Pure Championship and said it “would be cool if they brought it back with updated rules.”

Ring Of Honor’s official Twitter account replied by asking their loyal fans, “Should we bring it back?” and the response was a resounding yes.

The Pure Title was created in 2004, the championship came with a unique set of rules including wrestlers getting three rope breaks, no closed fists, and twenty- counts on the floor. AJ Styles was the inaugural Pure Champion

Tickets for both Pure Excellence shows go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. ET for HonorClub members and Friday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. ET for the general public.
