WWE Superstar’s Quick Elimination In Royal Rumble Match Due To A Lot Of Heat Backstage With Vince McMahon

Last Sunday night in Houston, Texas WWE held the annual Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View.

One of the bigger stories coming out of this year’s Royal Rumble is the reported confrontation backstage between Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle. We exclusively reported earlier that Brock Lesnar was told of Riddle’s tweets by a “certain advocate” and went up and had some words with the Original Bro.

It was also reported that there is currently some heat on Matt Riddle backstage within WWE, and that there was even mention in a recent Media Class at the WWE Performance Center to not call out or mention a main roster superstar unless they are aware of it.

In the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle had words prior to Sunday’s Royal Rumble event. It was also noted that it wasn’t a huge deal, but again confirmed what we also reported, that Lesnar did say something to Riddle about not tagging him on social media.

It was also noted that the quick elimination that Matt Riddle received in the Men’s Royal Rumble match was a means to send a message to him.

“We’re told that Riddle’s Rumble performance was because he has a lot of heat right now with the Vince McMahon and this was to send a message. “

We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about the Brock Lesnar/Matt Riddle situation, or any other heat backstage.
