Fans Reportedly Being Paid By FOX To Attend This Week’s WWE Backstage Taping In Miami
FOX has a huge week planned, as they will carry the Super Bowl next Sunday night, but in addition the network will feature a special episode of WWE Backstage from Miami – site of Super Bowl LIV.
According to reports, WWE will be paying audience members who attend this weeks special Super Bowl LIV edition of WWE Backstage from Miami. A document surfaced which has reportedly been sent to fans who will be attending the taping, which includes an interesting line about being paid an “appearance fee.”
“According to a source, Fox is sending release forms to people attending the live #WWEBackstage taping in Miami, in which they agree to pay them an appearance fee within 30 days. Attached is the release form they’re sending.”
The wording in the contract/document that has been sent to some fans states:
“Network agrees to pay an appearance fee (and related obligations) in accordance with the applicable rate in the then-current SAG/AFTRA National Code of Fair Practice for Network Television Broadcasting allocated to the Appearance, which shall be payable within 30 days following the appearance.”
Some fans have noted online that they have not received the document and that they are planning on attending the upcoming WWE Backstage taping in Miami. We will have to wait and see if this was a mistake that was sent out to some fans, or if those in attendance will actually be paid for their “appearance” on the broadcast.
