King: A Huge Milestone For NXT

By now unless you’ve been living under a rock with no internet you are well aware that NXT, is making a massive jump from the hour time slot on the WWE Network to a two-hour format on the USA Network beginning on September 18th.

The groundbreaking announcement received an enormous amount of reactions both positive and negative, I for one am extremely excited for this change.

The creator and brainchild of the black and gold brand HHH, has done a fantastic job at booking these young up-and-coming superstars. This evolution will not only allow the underutilized superstars to gain tv time, but it will also captivate the beloved NXT Universe with plenty of more “Mamma Mia” moments!

Unlike everyone else, I’m taking this a completely different direction. In the history of NXT, they have always wisely used a debut or a special episode to highlight the brand with exhilarating matches to gain more viewership.

So instead of giving my point of view on why NXT on the USA Network will be a tremendous success, I’ll be sharing with you the high-profile bouts that HHH will likely promote!

(NXT Tag Team Championship) Undisputed Era VS. Street Profits Two-out-of-Three Falls Match

On this week’s episode of NXT, we found out that in two weeks The Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish) will get their rematch against The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) for the NXT Tag Team Championships. Even if O’Reilly and Fish are victorious in their rematch, I highly doubt that this feud is far from over.

Since The Street Profits only retained their tag team titles due to a technicality as Fish made the tag prior to O’Reilly being pinned, I am predicting either a false finish or some shenanigans in the next contest, so a two-out-of-three falls tag team match will be the only way to settle the score to determine the best tag team on the black and gold brand.

(NXT Women’s Championship) Shayna Baszler VS. Mia Yim: Steel Cage Match

“The Queen of Spades” Shayna Baszler was pushed to depths we’ve never seen before in her NXT Women’s Championship match against “The HBIC” Mia Him at NXT TakeOver: Toronto.

Baszler attempted to swerve her challenger with a partnership last night however, it was nothing more than a hoax for Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir to blindside her and deliver a three-on-one beatdown to Him.

With these two superstars willing to tear each other apart, I am predicting that HHH will book them inside of a steel cage.

(North American Championship) Velveteen Dream VS. Roderick Strong

Another contest that took place at NXT TakeOver: Toronto, was a spectacular triple-threat-match where Velveteen Dream defended his title against both Pete Dunne and Strong. The always-obnoxious Strong was quick to point out that Dream didn’t pin him, so technically he didn’t lose the match.

With that being said I am predicting that Strong will get his rematch on September 18th, and I believe this would be the perfect opportunity for part two of The Undisputed Era’s prophecy to become a reality.

Dream has made the North American championship mean so much, he’s had incredible matches but Strong needs the win here. Dream can catapult into the NXT Championship main event scene.

Main Event: Either Matt Riddle VS. Killian Dain Falls-Count-Anywhere Match or (NXT Championship) Adam Cole VS. Tommaso Ciampa

The final contest of the night is extremely hard to predict, on one hand, Adam Cole the NXT Champion is void of a challenger with Johnny Gargano stepping away from the title scene and on the other Matt Riddle and Killian Dain could put on a main event caliber match. This week’s main event ended in absolute chaos with The Beast of Belfast and The King of Bros battling outside of the arena.

Dain versus Riddle in a falls-count-anywhere match has the potential to main event a historic episode of NXT but, this spot is reserved for the richest prize on the black and gold.

“The Greatest Sports Entertainer Of All Time” Tommaso Ciampa has been working his ass off, training for his triumphant return from serious neck surgery. Adam Cole threw around Ciampa’s name this week, while arrogantly proclaiming that his face is the only one worthy on the Mount Rushmore of NXT Champions.

You better believe that the former champion who was forced to relinquish Goldie, will be coming back with a vengeance and Ciampa has his sights on the leader of the Undisputed Era. That boys and girls are UNDISPUTED!

I am so excited for one of the best weekly programmings of professional wrestling to begin the next phase of growth and development. HHH will still be in charge of “his baby” and the WWE Universe will be given one more hour of non-stop high-octane action every Wednesday night! WE ARE NXT!
