WWE Superstar Says He Is Jealous Of Kofi Kingston

Kofi Kingston is in the middle of his first world championship run. Toiling in the midcard for most of his career, Kofi like many others, seemed destined to never reach that next level.

Earlier in 2019, Mustafa Ali was primed to be the white meat babyface to take on then champion Daniel Bryan. After suffering a concussion and being unable to compete at Elimination Chamber, Kofi Kingston filled that slot and made the absolute most of that opportunity.

Kofi had the entire crowd behind him in the Chamber match, and continued building momentum until he reached the zenith of the industry by defeated Daniel Bryan for the WWE championship at WrestleMania.

Many midcard Superstars who have been in the trenches with Kofi could have had that spot. But the stars aligned for Kingston and he is still at the top of the mountain.

Chris Van Vliet recently interviewed Dolph Ziggler who mentioned that he is professionally jealous of the spot Kofi is in.

I’m genuinely jealous that Kofi got this, he has everyone behind him, he has the locker room behind him but then he went above and beyond to get that Kofi Mania a real-life thing happen to where people in the back are cheering … I was out and to get behind that and still be rooting for someone else, it’s weird because we’re all wanting ourselves to be the champion.

It appears Dolph’s “It should have been me” promos are more real than we thought. Which is always a nice way to turn up the heat in a feud. Just because Dolph has been with the company so long, and held a world championship, doesn’t mean his goals of being WWE champion have changed.
