Wrestlemania is just a few days away and one of the matches for the event will see The Miz square off against Shane McMahon in a Falls Count Anywhere match. The Miz recently said in an interview that he never expected that WWE fans would ever cheer him.

He recently spoke to Sports Illustrated and discussed his run as a babyface which he never even considered. After all, he was one of the top heels of the company for many years. To add to that, his previous babyface run was not well received.

“The crowd is starting to do something I never thought they’d do, which is cheer me. It took 13 years for them to believe in me, and I hope I don’t disappoint. As much as The Miz is egotistical and arrogant, you’ve actually got to see the real Mike Mizanin on Miz and Mrs. and I think people have appreciated how much work I’ve put into everything I do.”

Miz & Mrs certainly changed things a lot for The Miz as fans got to know more about him than ever before. While WWE might just turn him heel later on, for now, he is invested in being a face and we will have to see what he does at Wrestlemania.
