Kofi Kingston On WWE Constantly Changing Creative Ideas

Wrestlemania 35 is in a few days and Kofi Kingston will be competing in the biggest match of his career as he will be challenging Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship. Kofi spoke to Booker T on his Hall Of Fame podcast and about his journey to Wrestlemania and also how WWE changed their minds numerous times.

Kofi Kingston said he was unaware that he would be replacing Ali in the Elimination Chamber match until he was called by WWE. They asked Kofi if he would be okay with competing in an hour-long gauntlet match, which Kofi agreed to.

“So much has happened and it’s been a roller coaster of emotions and some ups and downs. I think a lot of people don’t realize how much chaos there is involved in what we do. They see the finished, the polished product on television they think, ‘Oh these guys — it was a huge big plan to get to this point.’ Often times we don’t know what we’re doing until like mid-way through the day, you know. Sometimes we find out what we’re doing and we get on TV and it’s completely different.”

“So of course that’s how things were going with me this whole past two months. It’s like ‘we’re gonna do this, we’re gonna do that, no we’re gonna have this, it’s gonna be live, no it’s gonna be taped, no it’s live again — here we go!’ So it was a lot of emotions that no one will ever know about, you know what I mean? It was a lot of roller coaster in addition to the roller coaster that we’ve been telling on TV.”

Kofi said it is amazing to be a part of Wrestlemania “especially after grinding so long for this moment.” If he wins the WWE title at Wrestlemania, he will be etched in WWE history.

However, Vince McMahon could easily change his mind whenever he wants since nothing is solidified until we get to see the match end. We will get to know at Wrestlemania itself.
