WWE Trying To Phase Out Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle was inducted into the Hall of Fame, then was the RAW General Manager before becoming an in-ring competitor when needed.

While he has recently wrestled, it seems that his days as an in-ring competitor are slowly drawing to a close. Now there is a new report that suggest that WWE is taking “immediate steps” to phase Angle out of his in-ring role.

Rajah reports that WWE planned on having John Cena face Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania, but that won’t be happening. WWE might be intending to give Angle a backstage role now.

For those wondering about his future with WWE if he’s not wrestling, as per a company source, the plan has been to extend Kurt with another contract where he would be transitioned into a backstage “agent” type role.

It was also noted that some in the company feel that WWE botched Angle’s return too. He was supposed to be an in-ring competitor before retiring and then should’ve been given an authority role. However, that didn’t happen.

We will keep you updated regarding Kurt Angle’s status.
