Last week, it was revealed that veteran Kofi Kingston would challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at the upcoming PPV event, WWE Fastlane. However, Vince McMahon stepped in to make a sudden change, shocking the WWE Universe and the New Day.
Kofi Kingston impressed many people with his performance in the Gauntlet match and Elimination Chamber match, thus earning his title shot at Fastlane.
On this week’s Smackdown Live, Kingston and Bryan were supposed to sign a contract to make the Fastlane match official. However, Vince McMahon came out and announced that Kevin Owens would replace Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship match at Fastlane.
Needless to say, The New Day were unhappy. As were many fans of Kofi. Perhaps we might be seeing a program for Wrestlemania. We will have to wait and see what happens.
