Tonight’s NXT TakeOver: Phoenix special featured a highly anticipated matchup for the NXT North American Title as champion Ricochet put the belt on the line against Johnny Gargano.
This match was fast paced, and full of incredible high spots as each man seemingly sought to one-up the other throughout the contest. We saw both men perform some remarkable high risk aerial moves, on top of some of the smoothest counter wrestling you have ever seen.
In the end however Ricochet was unable to hold off Johnny Gargano, as Gargano scored the pinfall and became the new NXT North American Champion.
