WWE Reportedly Negotiating With The Rock To Work WrestleMania 35

Roman Reigns made a shocking announcement on RAW that the leukemia he was diagnosed with 11 years ago has returned and that because of the recurrence of his disease he will be unable to fulfill his obligations as Universal Champion and for those reasons he was relinquishing the title effective immediately. In the wake of the news of Reigns departure to focus of his upcoming fight against cancer once again, a huge void is now left in WWE’s main event picture.

With Roman away indefinitely, WWE is now left with a huge hole in the early plans the company had for next year’s WrestleMania 35, which Roman was expected to headline.

We had previously reported that WWE was rumored to be negotiating with The Rock to potentially headline WrestleMania in NY against Roman Reigns. According to a new report from Joseph Peisich of Barn Burner it appears as though WWE is still in talks with The Rock to work WrestleMania next year in a large capacity.

Regarding The Rock’s potential involvement in WrestleMania 35, Peisich said:

“Also the WWE is negotiating for WrestleMania with John Cena and with The Rock — The Rock wrestling, not appearing at WrestleMania for The Rock.”

It would make sense that WWE would want to bring in some huge star power to fill the hole left behind with Roman’s departure to once again fight leukemia, however there is no telling whether or not they will be able to work out a deal to bring The Rock in with his busy schedule.

We will keep you updated if we hear anything more regarding The Rock, or WrestleMania 35.
