Aleister Black was set to regain his NXT championship against Tommaso Ciampa but he was attacked backstage. He had suffered an actual injury but Black was written off of television before NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, attacked by an unknown figure outside of the Full Sail Arena.
But on tonight’s NXT taping, the mysterious attacker was revealed to be none other than Johnny Gargano. William Regal was going to announce Tommaso Ciampa’s opponent at WarGames when Velveteen Dream walked out, and then Lars Sullivan followed him before Aleister Black was superkicked by Gargano. Then Johnny ran out and when Black got back up, he got in Regal’s face and asked where Johnny Gargano was.
So it seems Gargano has finally gone heel and a new feud between him and Black has been made.
