On today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Goldust’s current status in WWE. Meltzer indicated that Goldust will be working 205 Live Events going forward.
Meltzer added that even though Goldust obviously fails to meet the 205 lb. weight limit for cruiserweights, the belief is that any established RAW talent working 205 Live will help increase viewership and ticket sales.
It was reported yesterday that WWE has already cancelled one 205 Live Event that was scheduled to take place on January 19th, 2018 from the Ryan Center on the campus of The University of Rhode Island. WWE reportedly cancelled the event due to “routing” and “scheduling” conflicts.
It should be noted that there have been previous reports of poor ticket sales and negative feelings internally within the company about the planned 205 Live brand events.
