The Probable Candidate For Face Of WWE Following Roman’s Departure

Roman Reigns has been the face of the company for a long time now. But with him announcing that he has leukaemia and thus having to relinquish his Universal Title and take a break in order to beat it, it’s up in far as to who will be the next face of WWE.

Dave Meltzer mentioned a few names who could be the next face of the company. He was especially supportive of Drew being a candidate. But sadly, he also did mention various reasons why it would be very hard for the current talent to replace Reigns, as someone like Roman Reigns is very hard to come by. Here is what he said about each of the candidates, in short:

AJ Styles: “He’s too old.”

Braun Strowman: “Strowman’s kind of one-dimensional. I don’t know, he can be the stop-gap guy. I don’t see him as the long term, but perhaps they will be. He’s the most popular guy right now and he’s a babyface.”

Ricochet: “I think he could be one of the biggest stars in the company. He’s not their type to be ‘the guy’ he can be a top guy.”

Seth Rollins: “Maybe I mean I don’t rule that one out. He’s probably the most popular guy on the Raw brand or has been the most popular guy on the Raw brand. So maybe.”

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa: “Those guys aren’t ‘the guy’

Adam Cole: “He’s got all the charisma in the world but I think that you know he’s got the look, he’s got the promos. He’s got everything but he doesn’t have the size. I don’t know if Vince is going to go with a guy of that size as ‘the guy.’”

EC3: “He has a presence but I don’t think his wrestling is good enough. He can talk, he can stand there. I just don’t feel like he’s good enough at this to be ‘the guy’ even though he’s good at certain things. He’s got the great look, and the great presence, so I don’t know. It’s an interesting thing down the line.”

WWE has always had the top guy being chosen by Vince McMahon himself. So it will be interesting to see who Vince chooses next.
