Kris Statlander added another championship to her résumé during a surprise appearance in London on Friday.
The Galaxy’s Greatest Alien answered Session Moth Martina’s open challenge at Pro Wrestling EVE x The World 2, defeating Martina to become the new EVE Champion.
The event took place Aug. 28 at The Big Penny Social and streamed through MyAEW. EVE had teased that an “Elite” opponent would challenge Martina but did not reveal Statlander’s identity before the show. Martina appeared close to retaining after connecting with her JagerBomb finisher, but Statlander kicked out and recovered. The former AEW Women’s World Champion delivered Friday Night Fever twice during the closing sequence to secure the victory.

The result gives Statlander her second championship in Pro Wrestling EVE. She previously held the promotion’s International championship for 336 days before losing the title to Miyu Yamashita in June.
Statlander was joined on the event by several other AEW personalities. Skye Blue, Marina Shafir and referee Aubrey Edwards were among those involved with the show, which was held during AEW All In weekend.
Despite being in London, Statlander is not currently advertised for a match at All In on Sunday at Wembley Stadium. Her appearance for EVE naturally places her nearby, but neither AEW nor Statlander has announced that she will be part of the pay-per-view.
Any potential involvement by Statlander at All In therefore remains speculative. What is confirmed is that Statlander will leave London with championship gold after turning Martina’s open challenge into an unexpected title change.
