Does anyone else get the feeling Darby Allin enjoys hurting himself?
A couple of months back during the Owen Hart foundation tournament, we got to see Darby Allin and Jeff Hardy square off in singles competition. It was the main event of the Dynamite it happened on and both stars threw caution to the wind. However, Allin stole the show with a dive from the top of a ladder, landing on Jeff Hardy and a pile of chairs.
While speaking on the “Snakepit,” Jake Roberts recalled Darby Allin telling him how he expected to be sent to the hospital after the insane ladder spot.
“I seen him three days after that and he’s seen me coming and he’s like, ‘Oh, boy,’ he’s already ducking me cause he knows I’m gonna chew his ass! ‘What the f-ck are you doing?’ I said, ‘Tell me what you were thinking before that?’ He goes, ‘Jake, I was starting to go up. When I got up there, I thought, ‘Well, I’m here, I’m going to the hospital. I know I’m going to the hospital this time.’ He said, ‘I was quite shocked that I didn’t! I hit and I started moving stuff and it all still worked, and I thought, It wasn’t that bad!’ I said, ‘That’s the worst thing you could have told me!’”

It seems Darby and Jake The Snake have a friendly relationship to the point Darby expected to be chewed out by the legend. Allin clearly was reserved to the fact he’d need the hospital but still went ahead with the spot.
