Update: Akira Tozawa Not Leaving WWE?

Earlier this week, Akira Tozawa sent out two tweets that seemed to indicate he was leaving WWE. Recently WWE began signing talent to five year contracts, which was a change from their typical three year deals. Akira signed to the company three years ago, so the timeline of him leaving would add up.

With the news that Evolve Wrestling will be airing their “Evolve 131” show on the WWE Network, headlined by Adam Cole vs. Akira Tozawa. That show will be on July 13th, meaning Akira is not leaving WWE.

Along with that evidence, John Pollock tweeted out that he had heard that Akira has plenty of time left on his contract.

This all makes Tozawa’s original tweets much more confusing. Akira may be leaving the 205 Live brand, which would really hurt the show just as it’s seemed to hit its groove. He may be headed to Evolve for a bit of time, like the Street Profits and Fabian Aichner did in the past. Or, Akira might just be sentimental about his time in WWE and wanted to mark the three year anniversary with a tweet.

Once more is known about where Akira Tozawa will be next, we will be sure to let you know.
