Back in February, Joe Hendry won a 7-Man Ladder Match to become the NXT Champion. Ricky Saints believed that he has been screwed multiple times since he lost the NXT Championship to Oba Femi. As a result, Saints challenged Hendry to a match for the NXT Championship at NXT Vengeance Day and Hendry accepted. Ethan Page came out to try and assist Ricky Saints during the match but it backfired. Hendry hit a low blow and Standing Ovation on Saints to retain the NXT Championship.
