CM Punk: The Best Part About Coming Out to the Alan Parsons Project Was Having the Entirety of Chicago Behind Me
CM Punk reflects on his special entrance at the United Center.
As Chicago anticipated the rematch between CM Punk vs. Finn Balor for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the entrance that Punk came out to left fans with goosebumps, including the champion himself when the Alan Parsons Project started blaring in the United Center like the days of the Chicago Bulls dynasty.
During the Elimination Chamber post-show, Punk spoke about the moment.
“That song, Alan Parsons Project, obviously has a connection with the United Center, being the intro for the Bulls dynasty. There is a statue of a man named Michael Jordan right over there. It was also Ricky Steamboat’s entrance for a lot of his time in WWE. It’s a magical song, ladies and gentlemen. I got goosebumps just thinking about it and talking about it. The best part about the entrance was the people behind me. When I say the people behind me, I mean the entirety of Chicago, because they are always behind me,” said Punk.
Punk would go on to successfully defend the gold and his next mission is walking out of Las Vegas with the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist against the 2026 Royal Rumble winner, Roman Reigns.
