Joshua Van is the current UFC Flyweight Champion after defeating Alexandre Pantoja via injury in December. Now, Joshua has his first title defense lined up. After rumors swirled of who would be next, Van confirmed today at the UFC Houston Q&A that he’s defending his belt against #3 contender, Tatsuro Taira.

Tatsuro Taira is coming off of a TKO win against former champion Brandon Moreno on the same December card that Joshua Van won the title on. Naturally, their schedules lined up for this fight.
Taira is 18-1, while the champ, Joshua Van, is 16-2 and on a six fight win streak. The bout between these two looks to be taking place at UFC 327 on April 11.
