Inaugural Cruiserweight Champion To Be Crowned At Zuffa Boxing 04
Zuffa Boxing will have its first champion next month.
Zuffa Boxing 04
Zuffa Boxing is still early into its life, but as of now, there are zero champions in the promotion. That is set to change next month. This week, Dana White took to instagram live to reveal that at Zuffa Boxing 04, they will crown their inaugural cruiserweight champion on March 8.
The event will be headlined by Jai Opetaia and Brandon Glanton, and the winner of that bout will be the inaugural Zuffa Boxing cruiserweight champion. “Great fight and this will be for the first ever Zuffa world cruiserweight championship, whoever wins this fight will be our first world champion.”
Opetaia is the current RING champion, but that title was not spoken about, and there’s no word on a possible unification. So, Jai could become a double champ come March. Jai Opetaia is 29-0 with 23 knockouts and was a 2012 Olympian. Brandon Glanton is a 21-3 fighter with 18 knockouts to his name and is entering his first major world title bout as dangerous as ever. Neither man has ever been stopped in the ring, as Glaton’s 3 losses were decisions. So, two heavy hitters will clash come March 8, live at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event will be streamed live on Paramount+.
