BKFC Is A No-Go For Shields
Claressa Shields is a 17-0, undefeated pro-boxer who has also dabbled in MMA, holding a 2-1 record under the PFL banner. So, it’s safe to say that Claressa is no stranger to putting herself in danger. But, when it comes to fighting without gloves, that’s just not going to happen.
Last night, BKFC held their KnuckleMania 6 event in Philadelphia, PA. One of the marquee matchups was a women’s bout between Jade Masson-Wong and Crystal Pittman. Jade picked up the win, and left Crystal with a lot of face damage, including a nasty swollen eye, lumps all over her head and a cut on the eyelid. Following the bout, DAZN Combat posted a before and after photo on instagram of Crystal’s damage, and Claressa Shields chimed in, commenting “Never in my life will I do bare knuckle boxing.”
After seeing the damage from last night, we don’t blame her. Though, lots of MMA stars and boxers have made the transition, such as in the main event, Andrei Arlovski defeated Ben Rothwell after doctors stopped the bout due to a significant cut on Ben’s eye and in the middle of his head.
