UFC Moves On From Aaron Tau, New Opponent Named For Namsrai Batbayar

No more Aaron Tau.

Road To UFC

If you haven’t been following along, UFC has ran its ‘Road To UFC’ series to find out who will win a contract with the UFC. Well, for the 125lb finals, it was supposed to take place at UFC 325 in Australia. But, it was cancelled.

Aaron Tau vs. Namsrai Batbayar was set to be the finals after both men continued to win in the RTU tournament. But, on weigh-in day for the fight, Tau had a mishap and didn’t make weight in one of the craziest scenes we’ve ever seen for a weigh-in. He missed weight by being way under 125, but then when he was told to weigh in again just a minute later, he was way over.

Now, UFC has completely moved on from Tau and he will not get a chance again. As first reported by Chris Presnell of MMA Ecosystem, Tau is out, and Yin Shuai is in. Yin lost to Aaron by decision in the semi-finals, but he gets another chance as he steps in to take on Namsrai Batbayar in May in Macau.
