The Royal Rumble isn’t just for returns, we could see debuts as well.

If you wish to avoid potential spoilers, please do not read any further. You’ve been warned. As the WWE Royal Rumble comes around, there’s always speculation on who could return to the company and who could be a surprise entrant. In 2016, WWE fans got the shock of a lifetime when AJ Styles made his debut for the company as an entrant in the Rumble. This year, we could get another debut.
Earlier this month, All Elite Wrestling star Powerhouse Hobbs chose to not re-sign with the company and instead set his sights on WWE. Now, Fightful Select has reported that the big man himself could be debuting in the Royal Rumble.

Fightful Select reported a number of weeks ago that Powerhouse Hobbs had finished up with All Elite Wrestling and was expected to go to WWE. Since then, we’ve confirmed that Hobbs is officially signed to WWE.
Natural speculation has ensued, with many speculating that Hobbs is going to debut at the Royal Rumble. While obviously we can’t confirm that he will be in the Rumble, WWE sources did indicate that Hobbs was scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia this week. He did not travel over with the rest of the team that came over after WWE Raw, and haven’t heard of him popping up yet.
A lot was made today about the offer AEW made Hobbs. The offer was as big as indicated by Wrestling Observer, and he was highly sought out for renewal. WWE stars we’ve spoken to are excited to see him join.
Hobbs will be getting a new name, believed to be Royce Keyes.
Hobbs is a former TNT champion with All Elite Wrestling and brings an athletic big man style to the ring. Now, it looks like he will be crushing his way through 29 other competitors tomorrow night.
