Volkanovski is coming to put on a show.
UFC 325 Main Event
UFC 325 is this Saturday with the headliner being a Featherweight Championship bout between title holder Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes. This is a rematch from 10 months ago where Volkanovski came out on top in a decision win. Since then, Alex has not fought, whereas Diego took on one of the divisions rising stars in Jean Silva, and knocked him out to earn another title shot.
Now, following the ceremonial weigh-ins, Alexander Volkanovski was interviewed and said that he’s actually looking to make this fight look way easier than he did the first time.
”I mean, yeah, I guess, yeah, there’s going to be different pressures, right? Every fight you’re going to have pressures, you’re going to know where this guys dangerous, where he’s tough and whatnot, so, you’re always going to have them pressures. But yeah, there was probably a lot more on the shoulders, a lot more going on upstairs in that first fight, right? So now that one of those answers are already questioned, now it’s just go out there and do my thing. I think I can really capitalize on where u am now, you know what I mean? I feel great, at 37 I still feel great and I think I can really go out there and look like I’ve improved tremendously. I believe, again this is no disrespect to him, I think I can make this look a lot easier.”
Previously, Volkanovski noted that he’s looking to get a finish in the fight and be the one to knockout Diego Lopes, which is no easy task for the wild-style challenger.
UFC 325 is live from Sydney, Australia on Saturday, January 31 and the card will be streamed live in the United States on Paramount+ with prelims starting at 5PM ET.
